A fire destroyed a furniture store and nearby power lines in Hartsdale Sunday.

Firefighters from eight departments rushed to Island Furniture on Central Park Avenue and battled the blaze for more than an hour. They are investigating the scene but do not believe foul play was involved.

Central Park Avenue was closed for nearly three hours.

Two other stores in the shopping center sufferd smoke damage and will allegedly be without power until internal meters are repaired.
