Fire breaks out at Smithtown Mavis Discount Tire Center

The Suffolk County Fire Commissioner says a fire broke out Sunday night at a Mavis Discount Tire Center in Smithtown.
It happened at 8 p.m. at 330 Maple Avenue.
Fire officials say there was a high volume of fire that crews had to get out before the roof collapsed.
No injuries were reported.
The tire shop sits close to a strip of businesses in Maple Commons. According to officials with the Town of Smithtown, the Mexican Restaurant Salsa Salsa had smoke but no damage, and business is operating as usual today.

The Smithtown Department of Public Safety, the Suffolk County Police Department Arson Squad, the Suffolk County Police Department Fire Marshal were still on the scene as of Sunday night.
A cause of the fire was not immediately known.
