Police say a teenager high on drugs caused a Bronx River Parkway crash Wednesday that killed two people.
Investigators believe 19-year-old Justin Martinez?s Honda struck a Cadillac, causing it to crash into a tree and burst into flames. Police believe the victims were from Yonkers but were unable to identify the charred bodies inside the wreckage.
Martinez was taken from the scene by ambulance to be treated for shock. He has since been charged with driving while impaired by drugs and speeding.
The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. as the evening commute started and caused the northbound lanes of the parkway to close for hours.
