Fiery Bronx River Parkway car crash claims two lives
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of an accident on the Bronx River Parkway that killed two and sent one man to the hospital Wednesday.
A fiery crash left one car unrecognizable and its occupants dead at the scene. The car, possibly a Cadillac, went off the roadway, hit a tree and then burst into flames. Police say it happened after the car collided with a Honda on the northbound parkway around 3:30 p.m.
However, police say, they are unsure of the circumstances of the crash. The Honda was only slightly dented as a result and its occupant was sent to the hospital.
Police say the two victims may have been Yonkers residents and are trying to confirm their identities.
The Bronx River Parkway was reopened Wednesday evening after being closed down for hours.
Investigators say it may take days to get to the bottom of the two-car crash and are asking for the public?s help. They ask anyone with information call county detectives at 914-864-7701.
