Ferocious spring storm brings heavy rain, damaging winds
The Hudson Valley remains under a high wind warning as a ferocious spring storm buffets the region with damaging winds and heavy rain.
The high wind warning remains in effect for parts of Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam and Dutchess counties through 6 p.m.
News 12 meteorologists say scattered showers and the chance for thunderstorms will continue into this evening, with heavy rain possible and strong gusty winds.
Winds will continue to gust up to 60 to 65 mph until later this evening, when the rain tapers off.
Those wind gusts bring the chance for additional power outages, downed tree limbs and other potential damage.
Overnight hours will be partly cloudy with winds diminishing to 15 to 30 mph.
Conditions improve for Tuesday, which will be breezy and partly sunny with highs in the mid-50s.
