FBI divers are once again scouring the murky Hudson River in Yonkers.
Yesterday, FBI diving crews, with the help of Yonkers police, spent a good portion of the day in the river near the Yonkers Pier. Divers were back in the water by 9 a.m. today.
Law enforcement officials aren't discussing the details of the underwater search saying they don't want to jeopardize an ongoing investigation. But sources tell News 12 the divers are looking for a gun that is possibly a piece of evidence.
Police say the area where they've been searching is only 4 to 8 feet deep, but visibility is limited since the water is very murky.
FBI officials say there is no threat to the public and that divers may continue scouring the area for several days.
