20m agoSpring Valley residents were shocked by the news of a house fire that took the lives of multiple people at 118 Lake St.
The overnight blaze resulted in five deaths and at least five others being injured. Among those killed were two victims under the age of 18, according to authorities.
People who live nearby say the individuals who lived in the two-story house were originally from Guatemala.
Neighbors say the sight of what’s left of the building is devastating.
“Very bad. I'm sad. That's my friend,” said one resident.
Survivors displaced by the fire are being helped with temporary shelter by the Red Cross.
