Family flees Montebello fire
A family had to flee when smoke and flames filled their home in Montebello this morning.
Ramapo police say the home on Colline Drive caught fire around 9:20 a.m. They say it started in the attic and caused damage to the roof and second floor.
A friend of those who live in the house tells News 12 that three people of a family of six were home when the fire started but no one was injured.
Firefighters from six departments were able to put the flames out quickly, but it is not known the extent of the damage.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
