Five family members are accused of scamming an elderly Harrison woman out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The alleged scammers face charges of grand larceny. A judge has set bail at $150,000.
Police say the five people are responsible for scamming a 92-year-old woman out of $300,000. They say one of the suspects called the victim pretending to be a police sergeant, saying the woman's grandson was in trouble and needed money to get out of jail.
Police tracked the family, uncovering bank records, computers and fake passports. So far, they have recovered $50,000 of the woman's money. Police say they are continuing their investigation and are looking at more suspects.
