Families wonder when they can visit loved ones in group homes

Group home residents haven't been allowed to have visitors due to coronavirus.

 As New York continues to reopen, many are now asking if group homes for special needs people will as well.
Group home residents, including 31-year-old David Majsak, who has Down Syndrome, haven't been allowed to have visitors due to coronavirus.
In the meantime, Majsak’s family tells News 12 since they can't take him out weekly, they Facetime with him daily. "We are very respectful of what ARC has asked parents to do. We miss our son. As soon as they give us the green light, we're up there with another box of doughnuts," says Joe Majask, David’s father.
The Office for People with Developmental Disabilities tells News 12 it is working closely with the NYS Department of Health on resuming community-based programs and visitations.
