12h agoA portion of a tree came down at Saxon Woods golf course in Westchester and nearly struck an occupied golf cart.
The Westchester County Parks Department says a man and woman were sitting in the cart on the 15th hole around 7:30 p.m. Saturday when it fell. The bulk of the tree just missed the pair and only branches hit the cart.
The man was able to get out. However, authorities say the woman needed help to escape the branches and had to be hospitalized for minor injuries.
News 12 was told that the trees on the course are regularly inspected.
