Facebook is promoting a special link aimed at preventing suicides if someone creates a post that raises a red flag.
Users who notice suicidal posts or comments can help by flagging that person. A Facebook staff member will then reach out to the reported person.
According to Facebook, the feature has been around since this past summer, but they're now expanding a partnership with the National Suicide Prevention Line.
To use the link, go to Facebook's Help Center and select the option to report abuse or policy violations. From there, click "Surface Safety and Privacy Concerns" and then "Helping Someone who Posts Suicidal Content."
