Extra crews are being called in to help restore power in Dutchess County.
The utility company says the current outage is the fourth biggest it has ever experienced, so it brought in 500 additional crews and has more on the way to help get power back.
It did add that it may take until the weekend for some.
County Executive Marc Molinaro hosted a call with other local officials to see what else needs to be done.
A big area of focus is providing power to assisted living facilities and older communities, as well as supporting debris-removal efforts.
"Please be safe, please be patient, and please reach out to us or the utility companies if you have some unmet need or area of concern," said Molinaro.
