A former Buchanan fire chief arrested has for alleged lewd conduct with a child.

Police say John Novohradsky, 53, showed inappropriate material to a minor. He has also been charged with forcible touching.

Novohradsky became a member of the Buchanan fire department in the 1990s. He also later became a lieutenant in the Queensbury volunteer fire department.

Authorities say Novohradsky met the teen while working in Queensbury.
