Tropical Storm Ernesto made a graceless weekend exit Monday, leaving 18,700 people without electricity and debris scattered across Westchester.Con Edison officials say they are working hard to restore power after Saturday?s fierce storm. Meanwhile, neighbors are complaining the holiday weekend means the utility is short on crews. Workers that would normally be sent to places like Patton Road in Yonkers, where a huge tree tumbled onto a house and is blocking the road, seem to be scarce, according to people who live in the area. As a result, residents say they?re frustrated with Con Edison?s cleanup efforts. For Mount Vernon resident William Hayes, getting his power restored is a matter of life and death. He uses an electrical device that feeds medicine to his heart.
