The Emerson Borough Hall will be undergoing a major renovation.
The 85-year-old building will be expanded. An HVAC system will be installed and first responders will be getting a new home. An elevator will also be added to make the building ADA compliant.
“At this point our council chambers and our court are on the same floor. It’s very difficult for a lot of our aging residents to get up the stairs in Borough Hall. We do have a LULA lift, but our LULA lift is not exactly reliable,” says Emerson Mayor Danielle DiPaola.
The $12 million project will take two years to complete.
