Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s announcement that the state will work with local health departments to set up vaccine sites has Rockland County Executive Ed Day hopeful.
He says more than 10,000 seniors in the county are registered for the vaccine, but have been unable to get appointments.
“They're basically stuck because we have nowhere to go at this point," Day told News 12.
The governor’s announcement is aimed specifically at helping seniors get to and from vaccination sites.
"His words sounded great. I want to see the action. It's as simple as that," Day says.
The governor’s office says details are still being hashed out in regards to where the vaccination sites will be located.
