A Dutchess County man was killed in a two-car accident on Wednesday afternoon.
The county Sheriff's Office says it happened on Route 22 and Reservoir Road in Pawling around 12:30 p.m.
A GMC terrain driven by 74-year-old Robert Tompkins, of Dover Plains, was heading north when it struck a Jeep Cherokee making a left turn from Reservoir Road onto Route 22.
Tompkins was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
While the investigation is continuing, the Sheriff's Office says at this time the primary factor in the crash appears to be the failure to yield the right of way on the part of the GMC.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Sheriff's Office.
