12h agoDutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro signed legislation Wednesday to establish the center that will replace a former YMCA building.
The center will be located at 35 Montgomery St. in the City of Poughkeepsie.
The project has bipartisan support among all levels of local government.
It's been seen as an instrumental benefit to all families and children in the county that will center resources under one roof.
"This is our moment to change that trajectory and to really invest in a way that we know will make a measurable difference and help kids achieve success," Molinaro said.
The demolition of the former YMCA building is expected to happen near the end of this year.
