In a Facebook Live briefing, County Executive Marc Molinaro said, in part, "This is the next phase of responding to this crisis and the reason that I can say that is not only are our cases trending in the right direction, but more importantly, as importantly as that, a lot of decisions are now being made around us that we're going to have to plan for, prepare for, and react to."
Molinaro says seasonal communities and campgrounds could open as early as June 1, with state approval.
Summer camps are also expected to open once new safety guidelines are put into place.
Because of the amount of cases, decisions on how and when to reopen will be different than Westchester and Rockland, but Dutchess is coordinating with seven other counties including Orange, Ulster and Putnam.
