A three-car crash in Blauvelt killed an elderly driver Monday.

Orangetown police say 83-year-old Seymour Whynman was traveling westbound on Erie Street around 5 p.m. when his Subaru crashed into a van at the intersection of Route 303.A three-car crash in Blauvelt killed an elderly driver Monday.

Police say three vehicles ended up colliding - Whynman's car, the van and a box truck.

The road had to be shut down in both directions.

Whynman was pronounced dead at Nyack Hospital.
