Driver flees after hitting bicyclist in Bedford
Police are searching for the driver who fled the scene after hitting a bicyclist in Bedford, badly injuring the woman on Memorial Day.
Police say they were called around 12:30 p.m. to Bedford Center Road near Narrows Road. The 46-year-old victim was flown to Westchester Medical Center with a severe head injury. Her shoes and bicycle were scattered at the scene as investigators combed the area.
Authorities are on the lookout for a specific vehicle. "A dark-colored Jeep Cherokee with possibly two people in the vehicle," Lt. Robert Mezurak said.
