Drilling resumes on new Tappan Zee Bridge
Crews began another round of drilling in South Nyack Monday as part of the Tappan Zee Bridge project.

Officials say the "vibratory sheet pile driving" is necessary for the development of a new pier.

Their goal is to erect a construction pier that will sit close to the Rockland shoreline near the Salisbury Point Condominiums.

Residents in the area did not appear bothered by the new round of construction noise. Many have received new windows and terraces from the bridge builders to help them manage the noise.

Officials with Tappan Zee Constructors say they have also raised a 40-foot-wide temporary noise barrier to help with the noise.
