Despite little to no snow accumulation Thursday, Department of Public Works crews across the Hudson Valley did not take the chance of snow lightly.
Yonkers DPW Commissioner Tom Meier told News 12 by phone that even though Thursday's snow event wasn't much, the salt trucks were loaded up and the plows were put in place just in case.
Meier said that the preparation for the flurries was no different than any other expected snow.
"Department of Public Works in Yonkers and most of my counterparts throughout Westchester County all had their equipment deployed. Nothing would have been done different." he said.
Even though the flurry event didn't leave much behind, DPW crews across the county say they will be ready if another system heads toward the region.
There is another storm expected on Monday, a few days before the start of winter.
Mayor Mike Spano says they weigh each storm based on the forecast and what it's going to cost.
"We're always trying to do that delicate balance. Do you we put 20 to 30 truck drivers out or do we put five or six out?" says Spano.
