Dozens of Yonkers residents rallied Wednesday to protest a planned UPS expansion.
Residents say they do not want to see their residential neighborhood transform into a partial industrial ground.
The planned expansion would include either above or underground tanks, a fence and additional parking spaces.
Community members are demanding an environmental impact study on increased traffic, noise pollution and proposed fuel tanks.
They also say there was a lack of community involvement in this decision.
UPS tells News 12 that a traffic study was done and any potential road improvements are being coordinated with the city of Yonkers, It also said commercial activity will be limited to areas away from residential areas, and that it is discussing the proposed fuel tanks with the city.
According to officials, the city's Planning Board is expected to vote next Wednesday on whether or not this expansion can be approved.
