Firefighters in Pleasantville are honoring one of their own who was killed 25 years ago as a way to bring attention to his murder.
Tom Dorr was a volunteer Pleasantville firefighter and city of White Plains employee when he was found beaten and stabbed to death at Graham Hills Park.
Dozens of Dorr's fellow firefighters and friends gathered Monday at the park to remember him. They are hoping that his killers will finally be brought to justice.
Dorr''s fellow firefighters remembered him as a gentle giant and hope to keep his memory alive.
"It's because he was a brother," says firefighter John Thys. "It's a shame that it happened, and I think part of it is we're all looking for resolution. We want to know what happened. I think once we do know what happened the pain of this will ease a little bit."
Dorr's wife, stepson and another man named Mike Sweet were all considered suspects. However, Westchester County investigators had no evidence linking them to Dorr's death. Anyone who may have information on Dorr's death is urged to come forward.
