Downed tree sets off fire in Dobbs Ferry
Bad weather overnight sent sparks flying in Dobbs Ferry.
Village officials say high winds caused a tree to topple behind a home on Saranac Street.
The falling tree ripped down power lines and caused a small fire inside the home's attic.
Firefighters arrived and found everyone was able to get out of the house OK. "Upon arrival we had a heavy smoke condition on the second floor. Electrical service ripped off the rear of the building by a tree that came down," says Dobbs Ferry Fire Chief Chris Denike.
