? The power is restored to about 700 Yorktown homes after a massive tree fell Sunday, taking utility poles down in the process.
Con Edison crews say the recent rainfall caused a tree on Stoney Street to be uprooted. Four utility poles were knocked down and live power lines trapped a passing car. The passengers escaped once crews turned off the electricity. Traffic was also backed up for several hours.
The utility company expects to have electricity restored to a few remaining homes by Monday morning.
