Dog lovers raise money for local shelter
Dozens of dog lovers came out in Rye to help raise money for a local shelter.
The first ever "Come. Sit. Stay." fundraiser was held at the Apawamis Country Club on Wednesday.
The event had several rescue puppies up for adoption and a couture fashion show.
The goal is to raise awareness for homeless dogs across the region. "I think it's a wonderful cause to support. Whatever I could do to help these dogs financially, I would do because honestly dogs are as great as people; it's unconditional love," says supporter Eileen Ganz.
Proceeds from the event will go to Pet Rescue, a non-profit animal rescue and adoption group in Harrison.
