Divers search for missing kayaker
Divers and police units will resume their search Tuesday morning for a man who capsized in a kayak in the Hudson River yesterday.
Police say 46-year-old Vincent Viafore and his fiancee, 35-year-old Angelika Graswald, launched from Plum Point on Sunday and then kayaked to Bannerman's Island, where they flipped over.
Officials say that Graswald called 911 but then fell into the water herself while trying to save her fiance.
A nearby boater was able to pull Graswald from the river. She was taken to St Luke's Hospital and was treated for hypothermia. She has since been released.
Viafore, however, remains missing. Police have recovered both kayaks.
Officials say Viafore is presumed dead.
