The Disabled American Veterans shot a public service announcement Tuesday to remind people what the organization does and to respect the flag.

The PSA was shot at the Veterans Memorial Park in Cortlandt.

The organization helps veterans with everything from medical benefits to revamping resumes.

The DAV is working on a project called When Women Come Marching Home.  The project is designed to help women reassimilate into their communities.

The project is one that Brenda Reed hopes will remind all veterans - especially amputees - to embrace their injuries and get the help they need.

“You don't need to suffer, no one needs to suffer,” she says.

What was filmed in the park will hit screens throughout Times Square.  The PSAs are expected to air every morning up until Veterans Day.

The Disabled American Veterans became an organization in 1920 following World War I. It has several locations throughout Westchester.
