An organization that provides support for people with disabilities celebrated Valentine's Day on Friday with a special party.
The event is just one of many the organization throws for its members filled with pizza, crafts and dancing.
Among those in attendance were Sam and Anna, who both have Down syndrome. The couple first met at one of Arc of Westchester's recreational programs six years ago, and the rest was history.
"She's very beautiful," Sam says to describe Anna.
Employees such as coordinator Allison Downer were able to watch their love evolve.
“They started their love story with coming to one of the rec programs here and all the time that you see them, they're always holding hands, talking with each other, giggling with each other so you can tell that they really love eachother” says Downer.
The couple spends their weekends together and participates in double dates including dinner or watching movies.
“He's a good boyfriend,” says Anna.
The Arc of Westchester has apparently been a popular stop for cupid.
"We have a couple of couples, all the time who come through our organization and to give them the opportunity to blossom their relationship, that's what we're all about,” says Executive Director and CEO of Arc of Westchester, Tibi Guzman.
