Federal safety inspections at three Amazon warehouse facilities found that the company exposed workers to ergonomic hazards, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
One of those facilities is located in New Windsor.
OSHA investigators found Amazon warehouse workers at the facilities were at high risk for lower back injuries related to lifting heavy packages.
They also found operations were designed for speed but not safety, which has caused serious work injuries.
Amazon faces more than $60,000  in proposed penalties for these violations.
The company has 15 business days to agree to penalties, request an informal conference or contest the findings.
