The state DEC says a Wappinger Falls store owner is accused of trying to sell a taxidermy mountain lion on Craigslist, which is illegal.
Officials say they received a tip about someone trying to sell the taxidermy. Authorities traced it to a store in Wappinger Falls, where they told the owner that selling parts of certain wildlife online in the state is illegal.
The owner allegedly told state officials that the mount was not for sale, and within minutes the post was deleted.
The store owner is now facing charges.
