Police in Mount Kisco are investigating after a newborn?s body was discovered at a village dump.

Police say the baby girl was found with the placenta and umbilical cord still attached near a pile of storm drain sediment collected by one of the village's powerful vacuum trucks Wednesday. Authorities believe she was stuffed in a sewer and her body was extracted from a catch basin cleaned by the highway department.

Detectives say the baby was partially enclosed in a plastic bag and looked to be full-term. An autopsy is being performed to find out if the infant was stillborn.
