Six day laborers have filed a lawsuit Thursday against the village of Mamaroneck.
The village shut down its day laborer hiring site in Columbus Park in February. The lawsuit, which also names the mayor and the police chief, claims the immigrants? right to free speech and assembly has been violated. The suit also says the village is deliberately harassing day laborers with increased police patrols and preventing them from finding work. They are seeking a restraining order so they can seek employment.
