DA: Charges dropped against Montogomery police officer accused of stalking if he stays trouble free

The Orange County District Attorney's Office says charges against a Montgomery Town police officer will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble for six months.
 
Kenneth Memmelaar, 53,  was arrested last September and accused of stalking an ex-girlfriend.
 
The Orange County DA’s Office says the case was adjourned last week in Chester Town Court until next February.
 
They added that the Memmelaar must abide by an order of protection issued by family court.
 
Memmelaar remains on leave from the department.
