Gov. Andrew Cuomo has a message for New Yorkers: Skip in-person Thanksgiving celebrations this year.
The governor is warning that many COVID-19 outbreaks start with small gatherings and suggests you hold a virtual Thanksgiving instead. "The best way to say I love you this Thanksgiving, the best way to say I’m thankful for you, is to say, ‘I love you so much , I’m so thankful for you that I don’t want to endanger you.’"
The infection rate, including micro-clusters, is 1.5%, according to Gov. Cuomo. Without them, it drops to 1.3%, the second lowest in the nation behind Maine.
Within the micro-clusters, the infection rate is 3.8%. At last check, more than 2,000 New Yorkers tested positive for COVID-19 and 15 more have died.
In Westchester County,  another 116 people tested positive for the virus. This marks the fourth time in seven days the county has reported more than 100 new daily infections.
Since March, more than 40,000 residents have tested positive in the county. There have been 1,472 deaths connected to it.
