Gov. Andrew Cuomo says shopping malls in New York can reopen under one condition.
"Any malls that will open in New York, large malls, we will make it mandatory that they have air filtration systems that can filter out the COVID-19 virus."
Gov. Cuomo says this comes after reports from across the country showing that unfiltered air in large indoor public spaces could spread the virus.
He also urges smaller businesses and offices to explore installing their own filters but it's not mandatory. He says that these HEPA filters have been studied by NASA and were found to be effective in reducing viral particles in the air.
