Residents of a Croton-on-Hudson apartment building say they?ve been forced to huddle around small space heaters because they have no heat.
Those who live in building 3 of the Amberlands apartment complex say the heat was turned off at 2 a.m. Friday and that there?s no sign it will be repaired before Monday. Residents say it?s not the first time they have problems with the heat. They claim it has to do with the new property management company that took over a several years ago.
Tenants say Oak Mountain Property Management Company has given them space heaters, but they?re not enough to keep apartments warm.
?I'm very aggravated,? resident Christina Ohlerich says. ?I have two jobs and I should be able to shower before I go to my second. Can't shower. Can't do that.?
One resident took the dangerous step of heating his apartment with his stove.
News 12 Westchester called the apartment?s hotline number, but no one from the property management company returned the call.
