Firefighters were able to secure two massive air conditioning units that dangled off the edge of a Yonkers building as a result of the whipping winds Wednesday evening.
Each unit weighs about 5,000 pounds each. They dangled from a 26-story residential building under construction on Warburton and Main streets in Getty Square just after 4 p.m.
Firefighters were able to secure the units by using a combination of hoist straps and cables until construction crews responded and secured the units tightly in place.
Construction crews will remove those units to another location. Until then, that area remains closed.
