Not all heroes wear crepes.
Engaged Yonkers couple Nick Vazquez and Leila Zambrano were on their way to serve crepes to a movie crew in Long Island City Thursday afternoon when Mother Nature intervened.
They found themselves stuck on I-87 for seven hours with thousands of other drivers.
"We couldn't get anywhere. We just tried to bring a smile to eveyone's face with a crepe," says Vazquez.
They pulled over on the side of the roadway and started making the thin pancake-like treat filled with ham and cheese. They handed them to dozens of weary and ravenous drivers stuck near the Major Deegan.
"The cost doesn't even go through your head in that moment…We're sharing the same misfortune at the same time," says Vazquez.
Nick and Leila also gave out water and cellphone holders for cars.
