A man who collapsed on a softball field was saved by three good Samaritans in Cortlandt.
The incident happened at Sprout Brook Softball Field Thursday night.
A group of men on a neighboring field noticed people huddled around somebody that was on the ground.
Peter Goldberg, a volunteer firefighter; Michael Vincenci, a police officer; and Brian Holderman started giving the man CPR.
"He was blue in the face – losing color," Goldberg says.
The trio kept the man alive until EMS arrived. He is now recovering at the hospital.
The three men are encouraging others to learn how to give life-saving CPR.
"It can happen in a moment," Holderman says. "If you know what to do, you buy time for the professionals to come."
