County infuses $7.5M in Yonkers waterfront project
Westchester County is joining the city of Yonkers to help with a redevelopment plant for the JFK Marina.
The county is giving $7.5 million for a waterfront plan that includes a major expansion of the marina and an extension of the pedestrian river walk. The project also incorporates the creation of the Hudson River Amphitheater. The facility will be used as an outlet for musical performances on the hillside in Trevor Park.
The county funds are designed to make the waterfront more accessible for everyone. To that end, 150 additional parking spaces will also be added.
