Power is out for thousands of residents in Rockland County, and County Executive Ed Day says it could stay that way for as long as a week according to O&R.
The storm may be done, but cleanup continues as crews try to clear roads and restore power for the many continuing to sit in the dark - including News 12 in Rockland.
The sunny day put a spotlight on the destruction left by Isaias, knocking down trees and power lines and causing road closures, including in a New City neighborhood off of Route 304.

Orange and Rockland Utilities seconded that statement, confirming more than half of its customers were in the dark after the storm finally passed

As of Wednesday, nearly 39,000 people were still without power in Rockland.
"The resources we need right now are people who can cut wood. But the challenge is the lines have to be powered down before you can cut the wood. So it's a process right now," says Day.
More than half a dozen cooling centers are currently open in the county for residents without power.
