Counties prepare swine flu defense
President Barack Obama says that while the swine flu vaccine will be voluntary, the government will "strongly recommend" that people get it.
In Westchester, schools plan on taking precautions by making sure classrooms are fully sanitized when classes begin next week. Last spring, dozens of schools were scrubbed down, and many temporarily closed, when the swine flu outbreak first hit.
In Rockland County, Executive Scott Vanderhoef said respiratory etiquette, hand hygiene, staying home when ill and medical strategies for people at risk will be part of the county's strategy to combat the H1N1 virus.
