Cops seek suspect after chase from Conn. to Yonkers
Police are on the hunt for a robbery suspect they say led them on a high-speed chase from Connecticut to Yonkers Wednesday.
According to police in Southington, Connecticut, the suspect had a fight with his ex-girlfriend then took her purse. A police chase began in Connecticut, crossed to the Hutchinson River Parkway and then the Cross County Parkway. Police say the driver crashed at Rumsey Road around 3:30 a.m. and fled on foot into the woods near Tibbits Brook Park.
State, county and Yonkers police combed the area but did not find the suspect. Police say he is wanted for questioning in connection to the purse-snatching and also has several outstanding warrants for threats, harassment and a parole violation.
