Cops round up feuding gang suspects in Yonkers
Eight suspected members of two feuding Mexican street gangs have been arrested in Yonkers. Police, immigration and homeland security officials rounded up five Vatos Locos gang members Wednesday. On Thursday morning, they arrested three members of the Elliot Street gang. Police say the eight men were taken into custody for being illegal aliens with criminal records. They also said none of the men were suspects in recent crimes. One member of Vatos Locos, who did not want to be identified, told News 12 Westchester he thought the men were unfairly targeted. He said all the men worked 9-5 jobs and were trying to turn their lives around. A federal judge will decide if the men should be deported.
