Cops nab burglary suspects at scene of the crime
Yonkers police arrested two men they say are responsible for a series of store break-ins.
According to police, 51-year-old Amede Santiago-Rodriquez was arrested and charged with burglarizing at least four stores in the past month. Police also arrested 47-year-old Jimmy Cruz and say they are trying to link him to the robberies. Cops say they spotted the two suspects in front of the same row of stores that were burglarized last week.
Investigators say Santiago-Rodriquez broke into a pharmacy on South Broadway through the ceiling and stole $14,000 last month. Police say he also burglarized a pizzeria, nail salon and food store. Surveillance cameras showed the suspect robbing the stores, cops say.
