Bank customers in Cornwall are on high alert after a Chase branch was targeted by a man looking to steal personal information.
Police say Elvis Karaj, 28, was arrested over the weekend for trying to install a camera and skimming device over a card reader on the ATM at Chase Bank on Quaker Avenue.
Investigators say bank security officials were the ones who noticed something suspicious while monitoring the site remotely.
Karaj was charged with unlawful possession of a skimming device and was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. The investigation is continuing, and Karaj may face other charges.
